Midtown Prowler

prowler composite The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a prowler in the midtown area of Sacramento.

Officers responded to a residence near the 900 block of 26th, 3 times in a one-week period where the female complainant stated that a male had been attempting to break into her residence. During the first incident, the victim was awoken by the suspect, who was trying to force his way through her metal security door. The suspect continued to break in after he saw she was there. The victim called the police and the suspect fled. An upstairs neighbor saw the suspect flee.

During the second incident, the victim was walking home and saw a subject in her path that made her nervous. She went into the middle of the street to get around him but he followed her after she walked by him. She ran into her residence and locked her door. Her upstairs neighbors witnessed this and stated that the suspect was the same person who tried to force his way into the victim’s residence. The suspect returned later and tried to get into the victim’s residence through a window, but left when he saw the witness.

Early Thursday morning on September 4th, the victim was watching television and heard sounds of footsteps outside her window. She opened her blinds and saw the same subject approaching her front door. The suspect stopped and looked at her for approximately 3 seconds. When the victim ran to the telephone, he fled. The Sacramento Police Department wants to locate this man. View the sketch.
