hi my name is Vanessa and I am very interested in becoming a police officer and I am attending college so I can apply at the academy . I am very determine to do this but I have second thoughts if I can do this and I know I can but ….. I don’t know is this normal to feel like this especially going in to this field?

Keep your options open. Police work is very rewarding, but just by virtue of working the job, it is dangerous. If you want to get a better understanding of the job, go on a ride-along with several different departments. You can also do research on line to determine what types of duties the police perform. You may find that after a ride-along, you may either love it or decide that you may want to pursue other avenues. Either way, good luck.
