I would like to know more about how to attend the condense version of the basic POST Training at the Sacramento Regional Safety Training Center. I understand that there are several different length programs, and I would like to attend the shortest one possible. I am not currently in a Law Enforcement Agency, but would like to get a head start. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your interest in the Sacramento Police Department’s Academy. The only academy we offer right now is our POST Certified Basic Academy (intensive format). This is a 25-week academy that consists of approximately 952 hours of training. This is the shortest academy that we offer.
There are other academies in California that are scheduled to work around standard business hours. These academies are called Extended Academies and generally run for nine to ten months. The Sacramento Police Department does not currently host an extended academy.
