hi my name is jaki,im interested in joining the police academy but i do take seizure medication so the gentlmen at the academy advised me that i should speak with the police department that im intersted in hopefuly getting a job with to ask if after i completed the acdemy if they could hire me with the medication i take. an answer would be amazing ive been waiting since i was 11 years old to find out if this would ever stop me from doing my dream job, i can still legally drive and carry a fire arm (i carry one as an armed guard) my seizures dont effect me any way but simple speach problems for about 3 minutes other than that im completly fuctional even during a seizure. id really appriciate if someone could give me some sort of answer….thank you so much

You certainly cannot be denied an opportunity to apply for a career as a police officer nor can you be denied an opportunity to apply for a police academy. A medical expert will make a recommendation of whether this is the right career for you when you do go through a police hiring process. Thanks for the question.
