Ask Officer Michelle – Question #520

Posted by dcummins

When the officers were doing a canvas of the neighborhood after the shooting on Danville on Saturday night, the officer that came to my door told me I should call Sac PD when people are hanging out in the park across the street after hours. What is considered “after hours” for Strawberry Manor Park, and what number should I call to make this report?

Dear dcummins,

Generally, city parks are closed from sunset to sunrise. If there are people in the park between these hours, they are trespassing. You can call the non-emergency dispatch at 264-5471 to report this. The dispatcher may ask you what you are observing. Just act as a good witness. If you witness something dangerous or someone being hurt, call 911. Thank you for being our eyes and ears when we aren’t there.

Officer Michelle
