Hello, I am a 6yr Army Vet interested in a career with your police department. I am also a Criminal Justice major at the University of Phoenix. I am currently writing a paper about you department and needed some information. The Sacramento Police Department has some very helpful information listed on our website. Some of your questions can be answered more thoroughly at www.sacpd.org
The recruitment process for our department is currently open. We are accepting applications for laterals, police cadet and non-affiliates. The specific requirements for each posting are listed on our website.
Training – The academy runs 24 weeks. We have 2 academies a year and we are currently training a class that graduates in June. Our next academy starts in July.
As for career development programs… The Sacramento Police Academy has developed recruiting orientation workshops. The first workshop will be held Saturday, February 9. Times and location information are on our website. There are additional dates listed. Please look at our website for specific information and how to register.
